PRESIONE SOLTAR
Welcome to the Fundraising Guide! Below is a guide to help you make miracles happen.
Create a List of People and ask them for Donations
This list should contain family members, friends, co-workers, classmates, neighbors, and other individuals who may be willing to support you in your fundraising efforts.
Establish Connections
Make sure that you establish connections with each type of audience you come across by finding a common interest. Know your audience when asking for funds. Tailor your “ask” to each audience. Make in person asks. Also, try to ask the friends and family you see on a regular basis to support you. Make sure to share your personal “why” with others so that can connect with you easily.
Set Goals for Yourself
-
Set a monetary goal for yourself to reach each month. Example: I will raise $250 this month
-
Ask for specific amounts. Example: I am trying to fundraise $25-$50 today for Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate
-
Ask donors to make small repetitive donations by clicking the “once a month” choice on donor drive.
Come up with Personal Fundraising Ideas
-
Birthdays: If your birthday falls over Christmas break, consider asking for a donation to support your fundraising efforts instead of a physical gift.
-
Sell items that you no longer use: Make use of secondhand clothing stores to sell your old clothes. Also, make use of stores that resell furniture, musical instruments, textbooks, bags, and other items that you have sitting around in your house. Ask your parents and extended family if they have anything they would be willing to get rid of.
-
Share videos and photos that help convey the impact that you are making
Statistics to use When Fundraising
Statistics really help to establish cause connections. Use these statistics when asking for donations
on Instagram, Facebook, emails, letters, and other forms of communication.

Dear____
This year, I am participating in Clemson Miracle’s Dance Marathon. I am very excited about this event and I would love for you to consider supporting me in my efforts.
Clemson Miracle is Clemson University's largest student-run nonprofit organization. Clemson Miracle members work year-long to raise funds and awareness through campus wide and community events because Kids Can't Wait. At the end of our fundraising efforts, we host our main event, Dance Marathon, to celebrate with the Miracle Families and dancers.
This year, Clemson Miracle has committed to making Little Things Matter for kids and their families at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate. This is our year long campaign to envision more memories, moments, milestones, and happiness for each child.
We will contribute our funds to pediatric summer camps for the second year as well as The Canine F.E.T.C.H (Friends Encouraging Therapeutic Coping and Healing) Unit, one of many Child Life programs at GHS. This team is comprised of four highly-trained facility dogs who partner with their handlers to provide emotional support to pediatric patients and bring comfort to siblings, parents, visitors, and staff.
I am participating in Clemson Miracle Dance Marathon to help make a difference in the lives of others, and I am asking you to join me in supporting this cause.
Any contribution will help, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for supporting me, Clemson Miracle, and most importantly, the patients and families at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate.
